Christianity is a religion based on the teachings and miracles of Jesus.
Christianity is unique among the world’s religions because it teaches that God made the first move when he came down to us in Jesus of Nazareth; the other religions are based on humans seeking to get closer to God.
Christianity teaches that there is only one God, and He made the heavens and the earth and everything in them, including humans who are made in God’s image. God is a trinity: he is three persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) in one spiritual being.
The Bible teaches that all of humanity has fallen-short of God’s standard for us, and that only through faith in Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross can we know peace with God. The Bible calls this step of faith being ‘born again’.
Once a person is born again, they start a new relationship with God where the Holy Spirit lives in them to guide and to encourage in their Christian life. This new life is available to all who seek it with a desire to live God’s way, whatever their past life has been like and whatever their background.
Because of this, Christianity is not only a religion; it is also a relationship with the living God, to be enjoyed all through life on earth, and for ever in the life to come.
